Remote Video Workshop: 4QM Unit Planning

It’s a long way to fly to Boise from Boston, so we set up a two hour Zoom video conference with the history teachers at Bishop Kelly High School. We introduced the Four Question Method, showed them one of their units that we had re-worked using the method, and briefly demonstrated the unit planning process. From there teachers worked on their own, using the 4QM to redesign the opening unit of the upcoming school year. One teacher told us afterwards that “Your framework has been great for department discussion and collaboration, and I’m actually re-focusing my teaching around interesting stories versus worrying about assessments.”
